Kolkata Sanved

Kolkata Sanved was created to serve as a platform for using Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) in psychosocial rehabilitation. Kolkata Sanved pioneered DMT as an effective approach to recovery and rehabilitation of survivors of sexual violence, abuse and exploitation, including sex trafficking. The NGO believes that all individuals should be allowed to live with dignity and self-respect, intended to achieve this goal through Dance Movement Therapy.

Love n Care for Animals is a voluntary animal welfare organisation which works for stray dogs, cats, abandoned cows, horses, neglected birds like crows, kites, vultures etc. The organisation has one fully equipped hospital to deal with critical conditions and medical emergencies. Mukti Rehabilitation Centre

Mukti Rehabilitation Centre was started in 2002. It was set up to address the drug-addiction needs of children to be nursed back to health and the societal mainstream. Mukti enables adults and children with different abilities to come together and have an opportunity for de-addiction along with education on self help skills, communication skills, literacy skills and behavioural modification. Psychiatric support, counselling and therapeutic intervention are also made available to all of them.

Nature Mates-Nature Club

Nature Mates-Nature Club keeps a data bank of Kolkata’s biodiversity along with the other part of West Bengal and also North-East region. Rescuing wildlife in distress in different areas of the city and handing them over to the Forest Authority for proper rehabilitation is another regular activity of NM-NC. It promotes bio-diversity gardening as a conservation measure, they uses butterflies as the key species for gardening.

New Light

New Light is a registered public charitable trust operating from the terrace of a temple deep inside the red-light district of Kalighat, Kolkata that offers comprehensive community development services. The project provides the children of sex workers a safe haven, particularly in the evening hours when streets are the most dangerous and the mothers are working.

Paras Padma

Paras Padma is a residential physiotherapeutic centre in Makrampur (Sonapur). The organisation provides physiotherapy and hydrotherapy, as well as callipers, special chairs, artificial limbs (prosthetics) for children suffering from polio, cerebral palsy, club foot and muscular myopathy.



Sanjog Initiative

 Sanjog is a technical resource organization. It provides support to states. It helps practitioners develop high quality services and interventions. It works for equity for women, men and transgendered persons; for rich and poor; for people at the centre and at the periphery. It works against all forms of abuse, violence and exploitation. The key focus is towards adolescents and youth as change agents.Through their programmes they are a member of the National Interministerial Convergence committee on anti-trafficking.

South Kolkata Hamari Muskan

South Kolkata Hamari Muskan is an anti trafficking organisation working in Kolkata since 2009. The NGO works with the children of women in prostitution (four to 18 years old) in the red light area of Bowbazar and Sonagachi. Hamari Muskan’s objective is to build confidence and resilience amongst children so that they have a better access to education and escape the vicious cycle of prostitution.
